Our 25+ years of system components integration and manufacturing expertise frequently provides an enhanced producibility perspective through participation at critical design reviews. By becoming an integral part of our customers design & develop teams, dataCon can provide real time answers or recommendations for design & process questions or concerns.
In addition to our on site, experienced, engineering staff, dataCon maintains a consulting network that has the ability to evaluate, define and refine an existing or proposed manufacturing processes. Our "design to cost" approach plus cumulative years of exposure to manufacturing problems and solutions, provides customers tangible cost benefits early in the design engineering process. This approach provides our customers with an objective "second opinion" to compliment or supplement their internal capabilities for early manufacturing inputs which are key to the successful introduction of a new product, program, or project.
1-3 Day Prototyping
If you are experiencing compressed development schedule pressures, dataCon offers quick turn methodologies to support your accelerated product assembly needs. We have developed a flexible 1-3 day manufacturing process supplemented by techniques to reduce kit pull and set up times. We support a wide range of SMT & press fit technologies for circuit cards or backplanes and seldom "no bid" 3-5 day turns for low volume, consigned material, box builds.

dataCon is an external manufacturing services (EMS) company who use highly skilled teams of factory personnel and supporting engineers personnel to manufacture a broad range of military & medical electronics. We are specialists in the assembly of systems and their component parts. Business and technical processes have been honed to offer supply chain solutions, technology and talent for emerging market products which require an initial, proof of principle quantity of 1-10; as well as repetitive, build to print services for products requiring periodic quarterly builds of 300 and up. For customers who require volume production and commitment to annual quantities, dataCon has established new product and business transfer guidelines with several domestic, volume manufacturers with offshore capabilities.
Repair or Refurbishment

If you need either a first or second source for product rework, repair or refurbishment needs please consider outsourcing this work to dataCon. Customer & technology specific repair & refurbishment work cells can be set up to duplicate an OEM's process specific needs. On site X-ray equipment provides fault identification data for for root cause analysis. X-ray imaging provides a quality data record for hidden solder joints such as those found under micro BGA and chip scale packages. Solder & other hidden interconnections not normally viewable by optical inspection techniques can be made visible with a high resolution X-Ray system. Focused x-ray images can point out potential or existing defects that may otherwise become process escapes. Our CCA repair service routinely meets IPC 610 Class 3 soldering requirements when replacing small components (0402) on your most densely packed boards. CCA repair work cells are equipped with Air Vac equipment & tools for .5mm pitch BGA's, Refurbishment work cells are set up using the OEM's Equivalent to New ( ETN ) tear down, inspect, and replacement procedures to maintain process compatibility & certifications.
